Industry Roadtrip: Healthcare Analytics

Natasha Udpa, Ph.D. has spent the past 10 years at the intersection of data and healthcare. She is currently a product and marketing intelligence lead at Komodo Health, a successful health tech startup that creates software applications that draw from the largest linkable map of human health in the United States. Prior to joining Komodo Health, she was a senior manager and product liaison at Quid, where she explored unstructured data to highlight variation in the patient journey. Prior to her experiences in health tech, Natasha was a healthcare consultant for Trinity, a boutique life sciences consulting firm where she led a range of projects in biopharma: from drug forecasting to market research to pricing strategy. Natasha earned her BSE in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan and her PhD in mechanical engineering with a minor in biomechanics from Cornell University.

Sayantan Mitra, Ph.D. is a Data Scientist who holds a Ph.D. with a background in experimental design, statistical analysis, data exploration, data visualization, and machine learning. He gained strong business experience by creating data-driven analytical strategies to decipher key business challenges in the healthcare and financial sectors. Working for Humana, Sayantan have gained the ability to develop analytical projects from inception to deployment. As a data scientist, he is driven by identifying the critical break-even points while working as a dynamic team player and communicating my results effectively to business stakeholders. One thing that makes him excited working for Humana is the ability to contribute to the motto #InspireHealth while working in cross-functional and cross-departmental teams. Sayantan is also passionate about giving back to academia by regularly participating in and delivering lectures to Ph.D. level students. In the next couple of months, he is looking forward to leading an advanced analytics team solving critical pain points and delivering innovative solutions for Humana. Outside work, he loves hiking, camping, and off-road driving.
